Two of hearts, one love

Many mothers and daughters reunited at the annual Mother/Daughter banquet event that took place in Steven’s Steak House; this amazing gala was attended by many couples.
The theme for the amazing evening was "Two Hearts and One Love." As mothers and daughters arrived, the line for taking pictures got hectic and seating was also chaotic, but to every problem there was a quick solution. During the night, there were raffles, a fashion show, a look-alike contest, an awards ceremony and a dance.

BG students receive inspiration and advice at UCSB
By Edgar Zaragoza | Scroll Staff ReporterMany students from Bell Gardens High school had the opportunity to visit the University of California, Santa Barbara, on April 16th to 18th. The reason they went on this trip was for the students to better understand the process of being a college student and what it takes to be successful.
The students, who went on the trip, were chosen by Hermanas Unidas, an organization that offers students the opportunity to be more socially dependent and to further enhance their leadership skills. With great confidence, the students were given a sense of being able to achieve more than what they ever thought possible.

BG dancers bring the stage to life

The Bell Gardens High School dance team held their annual dance concert on Thursday April 24th and Friday the 25th. This year the concert’s theme was "Alive on Stage," filled with 28 stupendous performances, with dancers ranging from all dance periods, including the BGHS 2008 Dance Club.
The dance performances were outstanding in the sense of their originality. Choreographer Rebecca Heacock, along with experienced dancers Jesse Abrescy, Arleen Flores, David Reyes and Rocky, worked each step with the performers and came up with the costume ideas. Student choreographers that promoted their own performances were Melanie Cabrera, Alma Del Viento, Karla Tobar and the Dance club; carefully selecting music and atmosphere.
